I have three sisters. I always knew that was special but during the process of wedding planning, I don’t think I have appreciated them more. My bridal shower was on September 27th. To say I had a perfect day is an understatement. It was beyond anything I could have imagined.

I took the train to my sister Janelle’s house on Friday night to spend time with my sisters and my mom. We drank some wine, had a few shots courtesy of my brother in law, and ate some delicious pizza. It was such a fun night! The following morning I awoke like a kid on Christmas. I don’t know if I was more excited for the delicious crystals or the yummy gnocchi that my mom made. If you don’t know about crystals then you haven’t lived! Crystals are a light fried dough dusted with powered sugar and they are a bridal shower tradition in my house.

The morning of the shower I also got to do a makeup trial run with my beautiful niece Bailey. She made me look all pretty and together. You’ll see her finished work at the wedding 🙂 It was at this point my sisters kicked me out of the house because they needed to decorate. I should mention that I chose the theme for the shower and in true Jodie fashion it was not something easy – Italian Rivera Theme.

I ventured out to get a mani and pedi because I was in dire need. I found a little spot in Warminster and settled in for a relaxing morning. Once I was under the dryer, I looked at the window and saw my two beautiful fashioNIECEstas. They came in to say hello and my brother in law John followed in them. Before I knew it, since I was stuck underneath the nail dryer, they paid for my mani and pedi. It was one of the sweetest gestures ever. My family really went out of their way to make the day super special.

Once I arrived at the house, my sister Jessica walked me through the magic. From the olive oil and herb centerpieces to the Mona Lisa photo booth … it really was magical.
